Not sure whether this is the right place, but i'll have a go anyway...
I have been a member of Orange since the days of Freeserve, and upgraded to the Orange Livebox 8Mbps when it became available.
I was using the Internet perfectly fine last Friday, with my computer displaying that the Internet was working at 2.4/2.5Mbps.
Saturday came, turned on my computer and the Internet is down to 800Kbps. I restarted the Livebox, and it went up to 832Kbps, and it has been their ever since.
I have tested my area, and our Internet can receive around 2.5Mbps.
I was wondering if anyone would know why this is happening, something wrong my end, or is it Orange?
If any more information is needed then just ask, once again sorry if this is the wrong place...
Symptoms indicate you were on Max and you've been LLU'd, have you had any emails from Orange recently informing you of any "changes" or "improvements" ?
IP profile for your line is - 500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 832 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 456 kbps
Anything else i could do? And what would those stats say?
Then plug your Livebox directly into the main BT box with nothing at all plugged in not even in any extensions, then run the BT Speedtester again and post.
That's what I'd expect to see. The speed has dropped due to a drop in the line stats, meaning the maximum speed is now lower. Technically it's nothing directly to do with Orange. First you should check the stats when connected to the main BT socket without anything else plugged in, the test socket if possible is a better option. If the stats are still roughly the same there then you'll need to contact Orange to get a line test, hopefully your MSR is high enough so it easily registers as a fault.
