I've recently bought a Belkin gaming adapter to connect my PS2 to the Livebox. After many attempts yesterday, I still can't connect. Although it's connecting, I'm still getting DNS test failed.
Ok lets start back a bit then, the adapter, is it wireless or wired?
If wireless you're sure you entered the key correctly? All uppercase, no spaces characters 0-9 A-F? Also you pressed the 1 button so the antenna light was flashing before it actually tried to connect?
It's on the stick underneath the livebox. 0-9 A-F, capitals only but no spaces. Also you did press the 1 button on the livebox so the antenna light was flashing before trying to connect?
IP address
Netmask
Gateway
Primary DNS
Secondary DNS
When it tests the connection, the wireless connection and the PS2 setup recongises the IP address to connect online. However, when it performs the DNS test, it fails.
When it give the detailed results it mentions the IP address as completly different.
Then that's why, it can't get an IP address if it doesn't let you set the security details.
Ok just checked up a little something for this.
The adapter connects to the PS2 through the ethernet/LAN port doesn't it?
If so then what you need to do is connect it to a PC so you can access it's settings and setup security along with telling it what to connect to. I don't believe you can do that with just the PS2 itself.
