Can anyone please help. I have a new Xbox360 and trying to connect wirelessly to my livebox so I can enjoy xbox live. I've read a few forums and people seem to have a problem with IP Failure but I am not getting that far. I select my Livebox from the xbox and it asks for WEP key which I am putting in correctly, before hitting DONE I press 1 on the livebox to put in pairing mode. Then I select done and it asks to Test Xbox Live. It finds the Network Adaptor but the next thing on the list is Wireless network which says "Not Connected". This is as far as I can get. When I select "More Info" its says that it cannot authenticate me onto the network". I have disabled the firewall to check if that was blocking it but nothing. I have factory reset the router, I've called Orange who say they do not support 3rd Party Hardware and hang up. I've called Microsoft who say it is all ok and must be the ISP.
I am quite technical and tried everything that I can see. The wireless adaptor works fine. Tested on another xbox. Any ideas????
**UPDATE** Managed to fix this. The Security settings in the livebox admin (http://192.168.1.1) MUST be set to WEP Only. This is due to the Xbox not being compatible with WPA. Was up and running within minutes of changing this setting.
