Because i use Shareaza file sharing i have to set up port forwarding in advanced router settings, this is quite easy.
set TCP external port to 6346 and internal to 6346 ip 192.168. *.**
and UDP 6346 6346 ip 192.168.*.**
This enables Shareaza to work properly................ BUT
Whenever i do that i find that Outlook Express then has big big trouble connecting to receive emails , it gives a "cannot find pop.orangehome.co.uk" error but how come ? It doesnt make sense as i only opened up two extra ports for Shareaza.
Why not try changing to a different port in the software and see if that works any better?

I will try that if i get any further problems.
I have had success just by ticking the " always connect to this account using LAN" in my O.E account settings, rather than let it use the Internet Explorer settings, dont know why its working, but it is for now.

If i need to change to a different port , how do i know which to choose, i wouldnt have a clue how to find a free one ?

Pick a 5 digit one and try searching to see if anything important comes up. Most over 10,000 or so don't have a specific set use so you can pick and choose.
