ok recently i have bought a new modem so 2 people can be on the internet at the same time. though the (the modems) were not identical i was told it would work. so i installed it, then-nothing, i did the usual open the window to connect click connect progress bar showed but nothing happened, i have now unistalled both modems, and tried reinstalling, though no luck same problems, and now it (windows) keeps on reintalling the driver every 30 seconds.
I have done a system restore, no luck there again same issue?
can you help
Info:
Modems: Thompson Speed touch 330 (they are the same model numbers but look diffrent)
OS:Windows Vista(this may be the problem)
I have broadband
The modem (the orginal one) still works on other comptuters running windows xp?
please help me i am going crazy
thank you in advanced.

You will not be able to connect with 2 modems at the same time on the same line, what you need is an ADSL Wireless Modem Router ie: Belkin or Netgear etc like here and here

what happened was the new modem installed a new looking dialog box(picture of the world instead or Orange logo), then i system restored my laptop, to an earlier date when i know it worked, but it still used the new dialog box with the old modem even after having complete uninstalled and reinstalled using the old disk-
so neither modems are working now
thanks

The new modem you bought was the drivers on the CD compitable with Vista?
It would be better to completely uninstall it make sure its completely gone reboot then reinstall a fresh decide which one your gonna use if you don't want the Orange software on your pc use the new one make sure you know your dsl username and password.
This is an excellent uninstaller gets rid of every bit Revo Uninstaller
Make sure Vista compatable drivers are on the software cd if not you can download from here
