I have been following the group for ages now and thought I'd write this (shortened) account of my Orange Woes in case it's of any use to anyone.
I signed 18month mobile contract offering free broadband. I thought long and hard about it as Orange has such a bad reputation where BB is concerned, but my sister has it and it seemed to work ok for her, and I have been Orange mobile customer for 8 years.
I got my MAC, gave it to Orange and set up DD for £5 'unlimited' BB. I thought "Job done. Just have to wait for the Livebox."
I waited and waited….. Nothing arrived. Not even a letter. On calling to see where it was, I was EVENTUALLY told that my BB contract had been cancelled by Orange. I was to phone back in 1 week...etc etc. Was told again my contract had been cancelled, I had tags on my line, no you can't re-register now but call back in 1 week and on and on.
Eventually after weeks of mounting frustration attempting to resolve the situation and re-register (several times) and being lied to (several more times) and being led on the merry dance that is Orange CS, I wrote two formal letters of complaint to CS and then emailed Executive Office...
The upshot of this is in six weeks of trying to have Orange connect me to broadband, they failed. Not even going to the top of Orange resolved my situation. Executive Office told me I had tags on my line. As it turned out in a later call from CS they were Orange TAGS! What incompetence!
As I stated at the start, I signed the contract offering me free broadband. I hadn’t budgeted for another BB, but in order to avoid a further 18 months of frustration and anger with Incompetent Orange, I decided to cut my losses and registered with Be*
I was connected to Be* within 7 days of requesting. No problems whatsoever.
Yet another case that should be reported to OFCOM.
Orange are proving time and time again that their procedures are not being followed by their employees/contractors......now what organisation does that remind you of ?
