I have this PC (obviously!) and my son's PS3 connected through the Livebox. I recently revived an old PC and bought a Belkin Wireless Network Adapter to connect up to the Livebox. I've installed the Belkin Software, plugged in the adapter, but no connection! I'm at a loss to know what to do to get the 2nd PC online - any advice will be gratefully received!
Some relevant(?) info:
This PC runs Vista, the other PC runs XP. This one has an Inventel adapter provider by Wanadoo, & I'm trying to use a Belkin adapter on the other PC - do I need to buy another Inventel adapter from Orange? Why does it make a difference?
Really you want it to use the windows wireless system if there's an option to. (Requires XP or Vista)
The general process is you scan for networks and find your livebox in the list. Select it and click connect or go into the settings to connect to it (depends on the software you're using). Most just ask to have the key entered, they work out all the settings needed automatically but if needed try WPA-PSK or WPA-TKIP.
The key is on the bottom of the livebox, 26 characters, A-F, 0-9, capitals only and no spaces. After entering it but before clicking anything press the 1 button on the livebox so the antenna light is flashing. Click ok or connect and it should then connect up and be ready to go.
