Hi,we have 8 meg broadband at the house.had it for nearly 4 month now and ive been online in my room for about 3 month.we have a computer (on ethernet cable) in my sisters/bf's room and a comp in my room(now on cable) The sister's b/f also has an xbox in their room which he uses most nights (which is wireless)...at 1st i was using my comp wirelessly on a dongle,getting 54kbps(max speed),the pages wernt too slow at opening BUT when actually on a page,it takes ages to open things,especially pictures,downloadin music or even emails...SO after 3 month i decided to buy a ethernet cable and run that aswell into my room.
It showing up at 8.1mb,ive done a recent speed test and it showed 6985 download and upload of 351.ive just gone onto192.1.1 etc this showed:
Connection mode : G.DMT
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 11.5
Attenuation (dB) : 12.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 9856
ADSL status : Connected [0]
Downstream Upstream
Rate (kbps) 8128 448
The problem is the other way round,it takes ages for web pages to open and load,music etc,sometimes it crashes.BUT when im actually on a page,it is fast,i can click,click etc.
just wondering wether any1 has any ideas why this is? sorry to go,but just wondering wether 2 put my wireless dongle back in. hmm :-S
