Wel we applied for the free upgrade to 8 meg a few months ago from our 2 meg package.Only to be told our line wont take anything faster then 1 meg.Anyway just checked our statement for this month and found a £20 regrade fee They have charge me for dropping my speed from 2 meg to 1 meg.The cheeky sods!I am wondering if we can get our contract annuled because we signed up and was told we was getting 2 meg Even have the email to prove it.
You're likely another where the BT checker now has lower speeds than previous which is why it was changed.
You can try and get it annuled but you probably won't get far, there's 2 options, look for the ADSL guide thread link to update the checker or talk to billing and try and get the £20 back as the "upgrade" turned out to be a downgrade.
