When I first got put on to ADSL Max I had a Target SNR of 6db and was syncing at about 3808 - 4100kbps, but now its at 15 db and the highest Im syncing at is 2150.
Who can I phone to ask to lower the Target SNR? its been at 15db for about 3 weeks now
I use the DMT tool on my Voyager 2110 which lowers it to about 9db on minimum setting but then as soon as I lose sync the next day or whenever it goes back upto 15db which in turn lowers my IP profile.
If You ask me, this ADSL Max system is stupid!! is only takes about 10 minutes after a low sync to get my IP profile put right down..but it takes 3-5 days for it to go back up ..whats up with that!?!?
Thats just how BT designed it, it's the best option really otherwise what would happen is it measures the line for a length of time and then sets the sync speed to just below the lowest value you get during that time. That could easily cause some nasty surprises.
Target margin is supposed to be re-examined by the system after 14 days of stability, the vast majority of the time its low because there's some underlying problem. You're best bet is to get Orange to run a line test and add into the notes that you request the target to be lowered.
