Finally after over 2 weeks of PPP server down suddenly I'm reconnected! I am in the process of changing over to BT and my activation day is Friday. Can I cancel BT before activation day if I want or am I already in a contract? Orange have promised me 6 free months if I stay with them for another 12 months. Not sure what to do now because its been a real hassle the past couple of weeks. Thanks for any advice.

I cannot emphasise enough the importance of escaping Orange, from my own experience too.
Once you move away from them you will never look back as they are a shambles.
I left Orange last July and was so relieved to have a decent, stable connection after their shocking excuse for a service with disconnections for 2 weeks, like yourself.

Who did you transfer over to Andy? Looks like BT aren't without problems either! Is there such a thing are a totally reliable ISP with tech and customer support in this country?!!
I switched to Idnet and in over a year I have never had 1 disconnection.
As for their customer service well I cannot fault them at all - 100% excellent -
-friendly, knowledgable, ENGLISH SPEAKING staff who care and sort your problem out, based in UK not Inida
-they ring you back if they cannot sort it there and then
- 1 month contracts
They're amazing and once you switch to a real ISP it is susch a relief after the nightmare Orange.
