I think I need a speedtouch driver for my Windows 98 PC. I set up Broadband on my XP PC with the CD from Orange but it doesn't work on W98. Thompson Homepage says Speed touch 330 works on W98 but the latest driver is for 98SE. My PC is only W98. Crying or Very sad

I tried to set the modem up on the PC and the green lights on the speedtouch came on but I got error 630.Can anyone tell me where I can get a driver from please? Servalan

I thought 98SE (Second Edition) was issued because of the numerous bug fixes relating to 98 but if you downloaded all the 98 fixes then you have essentially 98SE......but I might be wrong !

Can you not connect to http://192.168.1.1 ?

But have you downloaded the Release 3.01 driver on the Thomson Support page or are you using the CD ?

I don't believe there is a separate driver for just 98.....the driver is for 98, 98SE and 98ME.

Perhaps something else is causing the problem ?

I haven't downloaded the 3.01 driver as it says it's for W98SE. The Orange CD won't work on W98. I'll try the 3.01 if you think it will work. Thanks

I downloaded the update from the Thompson site. I managed to get my email but IE6 won't connect and AVG won't download. Have you any suggestions as to why this is not working. W98. Speedtouch modem.

Make sure its your default connection Control Panel> Internet Options> Connection tab "always dial my default connection" has a dot in it occasionally them settings change for some reason.
My past experiences with that modem drivers upgrade i found uninstalling the old drivers completely restarting PC and installing the new drivers clean worked better.

I did that. But I have a choice between Speed touch connection or Orange Broadband connection now and neither connect. Crying or Very sad

You uninstalled the old drivers? there shouldn't be 2 in there just the speedtouch one.

So, let's get this right, you've downloaded your emails from Orange webmail into an email client on your computer but IE6 won't connect and you can't download an AVG update ?

There was the original one I used on Anytime and a Windows one.

Very strange if you can connect to Orange webmail.....how did you connect to that without using a browser ?
