I've just changed to Orange Broadband from Anytime.
I now have two entries in the email mail accounts box.
The wanadoo one works but if I try to use the Orangehome one as default I am repeatedly asked for a password. Is the orangehome the correct one to make default and if so how can I stop it asking for a password?

Assuming your using Outlook Express, open it go to Tools > Accounts > Mail tab and highlight the account click properties click on the "servers tab under "incoming mail server" if "remember my password" is ticked untick it retype your password retick "remember my password" click "apply" and "ok"
Also make sure in the "Connection" tab that its set to your appropriate connection Router/Livebox = Local area Connection, Modem = ISP Broadband.

I've done this but the pop up box still comes up with the correct username and password in asking me to click on OK. But it just keeps coming up.
Could it be something to do with Zone Alarms firewall or AVG antivirus scan?

Make sure you have your username and password right if they are definately right if they are then, write all the settings down of that account thats on each tab, delete the account restart Outlook Express go back and put the account in a fresh.

I think you'll find the alternatives are for SMTP.
Found this from a Google search :-
Troubleshooting Outlook Express Error 0x800CCC90/91
You may get the following error message:
- There was a problem logging onto your mail server.
-Your UserName was rejected. Account: 'mail.resource24.net', Server: 'pop3.norton.antivirus', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90
- Error Number: 0x800CCC91
Solution
This error message is caused by the fact that you have set an anti virus program, in this case Norton AntiVirus, to scan all emails automatically.
Changing the settings within Outlook Express will not solve the issue. You need to go into your Norton Antivirus Control Panel and change the settings there.

I know what u mean nhyder most searches do point to Norton as the problem not much else.
I use AVG if anything is wrong with the email plug in the icon usually goes grey in the system tray and constantly warns you.
servalon open up AVG highlight the email scanner click "Properties" then "Properties" on the window that pops up, next window click "Servers" highlight POP3 make sure "Active" is ticked and the port its set to AVG's default for POP3 10110
