We have 3 PCs cabled over Cat 6 directly into the Livebox Ethernet ports. Periodically the Livebox stops responding over the LAN e.g it can't be PINGed, but the connection is still fine between the PCs.
We have replaced the Livebox, the PC LAN cards, run traces, but cannot find the cause!
When the Livebox is in this state the WAN link still seems to be up and the VOIP can make calls. Reboot the Livebox and everything works fine again for anything from a few minutes to several days. Sometimes the Livebox starts responding again without intervention.
Incase anyone is wondering the livebox pro seems to be a french option that has more than the standard 2 ethernet ports and isn't available over here.
Do all the computers loose the broadband connection at the same time?
You mention the connection between PC's is ok, you mean you can ping/network ok when this happens?
Have you tried recovering the box? I presume they do a similar thing to over here with the recovery software installed with everything else. Or you could tell it to update and see if it downloads a new firmware.
