I've been with Tiscali/Wanadoo for a few years and have been very pleased with it but in the last few weeks I am getting quite a few drop outs. This is incredibly frustrating - including 2 this afternoon for 15 minutes in the space of an hour. I've currently got the Wireless and Talk package (not the Broadband Max, but I'm pretty sure Wanadoo upgraded by boardband free a few months back anyway).
I've been reading some of the posts here - obviously people are having quite a few problems. Is there anywhere you can read about scheduled downtime? I mean, surely Orange can't get away with doing this?
I'm pretty sure it's not my equipment - the lights on the box go pretty crazy when the line drops and seem to sort themselves out but I really can't continue using Orange if this is what we are to expect.
What do you guys do as backup when you rely on an internet connection for work, etc?
Have a look at the 8Meg problem forum on here, also the Orange's own internet forum and the ASDL web site Orange forum.
You will find many answers to your problem though regretfully not many positive solutions, other than to jump ship!
The prognosis is not good!
Will the patient recover?
Is it worth the wait to find out?
"I've been reading some of the posts here - obviously people are having quite a few problems. Is there anywhere you can read about scheduled downtime?"
It is not sheduled downtime, it is equipment / exchange problems Orange can't / don't want to address!
"I mean, surely Orange can't get away with doing this? "
Oh yes they can, they have been doing it quite happily complacently and blatantly from when they started the LLU program, in some cases from before christmas!!
