Recently, my broadband has been disconnecting itself every 15 seconds to 3 minutes when I use the internet. This is extremely annoying as sometimes I have to reconnect every time I click on anything. If anyone has any advice for how to solve this problem I would greatly appreciate it. (the internet will not disconnect itself if it is not being used)
I have been having the same problems...the internet will just disconnect every now and again, It has only been happening since Orange made those changes they said they were going to do a few days ago
And its not as if i cant reconnect...as soon as i am aware of the disconnection i just click reconnect and its back and working perfectly, my modem is always green so thats not the problem...just keeps disconnecting for no reason
Has anyone else been having this problem...do you think its related to the recent changes that Orange have made??
My Orange connection’s been disconnecting for a while now, every 5 or 10 minutes. Orange were no help so a couple of days ago I tried disconnecting my Sky box from the phone line as I know Sky regularly send and receive data via the phone line and wondered if it could be knocking my Livebox off. Just a shot in the dark but I’ve not seen it disconnect since. Could just be a coincidence but can’t hurt to give it a go.
If you do leave your Sky box disconnected from the phone line you will need to plug it back in if you ever wish to use some Sky Active services or order Box Office.
it is driving me insane, I play an online game which means I have to do safety raids to stop being attacked, these disconnections are ruining the game (which i pay monthly for) when my son rang Orange, he was told that there were problems in Liverpool, we live in Wales ? and there was an overload of new users..... this is not good enough - if the server is not big enough, why put promotions out which is going to put even more pressure on the server ???
CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT WITH Orange IT WONT GET BETTER!
I WAS WITH Orange BROADBAND FOR 6 MONTHS. FROM DAY 1 I WAS PROMISED A CONNECTION OF UP TO 8 MEG, IT WAS VERY RARE THE SPEEDS REACHED THAT OF DIAL UP. AFTER ENDLESS COMPLAINTS TO CUSTOMER SERVICES, THEY STILL FAILED TO CORRECT THE SPEED ISSUE.
EVENTUALLY I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT BECAUSE THE SERVICE WAS SO POOR. ORANGE CHARGED ME £80 TO CANCEL, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE NOT PROVIDING THE SERVICE THEY PROMISED. THE RESPONSE TO MY COMPLAINT LETTER WAS ABYSMOL. THE STAFF MEMBER SENT TWO RESPONSES, BOTH LETTERS CONTAINED POOR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR, AND DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE MY COMPLAINT. THEY KEPT ON TALKING ABOUT ME NOT ALLOWING THEM TO CARRY OUT LINE TESTS WHEN INFACT THEY HAD DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES AND FAILED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. ONE EXCUSE WAS THAT I LIVE TOO FAR AWAY FROM THE BT EXCHANGE, WHEN IN FACT I CAN SEE MY LOCAL EXCHANGE FROM MY BEDROOM WINDOW! THIS PROVED THEIR COMPLAINTS DEPT ARE UNSKILLED AND UNABLE TO DEAL WITH COMPLAINTS EFFECTIVELY.
A LETTER HAS ALSO BEEN SENT TO WATCHDOG ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE. I AM AWAITING A RESPONSE.
AFTER READING THIS, PLEASE DONT TAKE A RISK WITH Orange, IT IS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE. I HAVE SINCE SIGNED UP WITH Sky BROADBAND, AND GET SPEEDS OF AROUND 15MEG. BIG DIFFERENCE FROM Orange BROADBAND.
AS A RESULT I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANY SERVICES FROM Orange, AND WILL ENSURE AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE KNOW ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE.
thank you so much for that information, which I am not surprised at at all..and woe anyone who has a problem at the weekend because you will have to wait until Monday until the so called technicians come in.... Ok I will pass this on to my son who is also livid with the service which he is paying for... he downloads his music and obviously is getting disconnected as well as we are on the same wireless service (or lack of it) I am now being cut off every minute or so, and am stunned I am actually able to type this.....

hi, im adam and this is my first post on the site!
i had the same problems with Orange. its at least once a day that the connection just disappeared.
i might lose internet for a few minutes, sometimes it had even been a matter of weeks.
after phoning Orange many times they said there was a line fault.
it was going to take 24 hours to fix the problem. that was in may. the connection is now back, but its really slow.
i have only just got connection back but its taking a painful amount of time for sites to load. (about 10-15 seconds.)
the modem says its got a connection of 4.6MBps.
is anyone experiencing similar problems, does anybody know how to fix this?
me and my dad had a real good rant at the support advisor who eventually put us on hold then put the phone down.
Hi, we are still experiencing difficulties, the power just doesnt seem to Be Broadband, however my son has just been to a site which said a lot of the problems could be interference with free standing phones..... we are willing to give anything a go, and i have just got my old landline phone out and taken the hands free phone away..... if we get a better reception with less interference that would be a boon !!!!!

I think what might be more beneficial is if you post your line stats. This will give some indication as to what is happening with your connection and any potential problems.
I've been having constant disconnections for weeks now, its driving me nuts!
I rang the support centre (somewhere in Asia - that in itself drives me nuts as its sometimes very difficult to understand what they are saying!).
I now know off pat how to reboot the livebox I've done it that many times.
They always end with 'are you happy with what I've done today?' well last time I wasn't and told him so but it didn't make any difference, I'm afraid I ended up slamming the phone down in despair.
Anyway to the problem - I can be working okay then I click to do something and it just hangs. I'll try an open another tab and find I'm disconnected - AGAIN! I have to go to live box and revalidate the connection, if there is one! I feel like I got no help from Orange and I now know it obviously a BIG problem and LOTS of folk are suffering.
If there really is no definitive fix for this problem I think I may have to leave Orange and find someone more reliable.

ORANGE RANDOM DISCONNECTION
Ensure there is a filter on all sockets.
Ensure that all filters are good quality and in good condition.
Try with only the livebox connected to the phone line (the Livebox does not need to go through a filter and can be plugged straight into the phone line) - disconnect everything, Sky, telephones, faxes, modems etc.
For the last few weeks, after 4pm my searches get slower and slower. 6pm onwards I start to lose the link. But by 10pm I can't log on again. I just get the message "no dialling tone etc."
I tried to get to my inbox at 2pm one morning and the message said "unusually high activity - try later".
Funny - the difficulties coincide with the American working day. Mornings and early pm's are fine.
well my parents took advantage of a Orange deal were you get a free latop and well it WAS NOT WORTH IT im a student doing a pc engineering course (lasts about 33months to get up the professional level which covers networking) and well ive only just started this course and i can already see many many flaws with Orange i mean from day 1 our internet has been s**t cutting out every 30seconds gets really annoying and well im sick of it and i really don't no why this is happening it's stupid the way they are getting more and more people to signing up when there service is s**t s**t s**t any ways of fixing it would be great.
