im currently on the £20.00 a month package upto 8meg.
its been ok for about 5 months when i was getting 5meg it was brill, but now im only getting 2meg. anyway i rang them today to fing out what was going on and to get my 3meg back. i was passed from piller to poast from the tec guys and to the customer support over and over. had loads of people telling me loads of bull s**t.
iv been told that iv been on a 2meg package since i signed up and thats all i can get. yet iv been getting 5 to 7 meg before. ( so i rang BT and the nice lady did a line check and she said my line can hold the 8meg)
i was also told that BT have traffic shaped my line coz i do alot of online gaming on the ps3 so i asked the BT lady this and she said that BT have not done anything to my line. so i rang Orange back up and the customer support team superviser said that on there records im getting upto 5meg but the tek team say im only getting 2meg and my online user account says im only getting 2meg and thats the fastest i can get but i knw i can get more coz BT have said so, iv have been getting more upto 2 weeks ago 5 to 7 meg and the customer team say im getting 5 meg but yet its still 2meg.. ( SOOOO SLOW )
im now realy fed up with them and they are unwilling to help, nothing i say helps even when i tell them that BT say i can get more and the customer team say i can get more but they dont care. so i was wondering if this is a breach of there tearms as they have not informed me 30day prior to a speed change, and im not getting what i pay for. i wan my 3meg back. please could someone help me as i dont want to be stuck with these people and i feel ringing them again wont do anything. would changing to the max package of £24 make them do a line test and then they would realise my line can support more speed or should i just get out of this mess and if so could you please help me with how and what to say to them on the phone and does anyone have a good ip that works well with online console gaming? What do your line stats and BT speedtest if you can run it show?
i cant run it. it keeps coming up with an error,
orange finaly gave us a month free but thats not good enough i just want the 5 meg back that i used to get. im not a beginner in internet stuff but i dont understand all the tec talk stuff and what not.
It sounds like you're on the 2272 speed cap like most of us since being moved to LLU. Previously I was on about 5500
I hardly download at all (<2MB).
a) I am really surprised BT gave you that info since you''re a client of Orange
b) If you're on LLU, would BT have access to your download patterns anyway?

well thats what the BT lady said, i dont know if its its true or not but i trust them more than Orange..
and one of the guys at Orange said im still on adsl max not llu. so im totaly lost now iv got into deep water as im not sure what adsl max or llu is or means or what it does or what it impliments but im realy hacked off with Orange and getting deeper and deeper into stress with the bloody indian walls.
please some one help as im lost and confused now. i could do with as much firing power behind me as poss when i ring them again to get stuff sorted.
If you're using Speedtouch or Livebox I think it's http://192.168.1.1 into your browser. I think it's then admin + admin for the sign on.....sorry I use a Belkin router which is different.

it says in getting nearly 5 meg but when i do a speed test it says 2 meg
That's effectively the theoretical connection....something is preventing you achieving that. You're not that far from the exchange so you should be getting more than 2meg but Noise margin at 6.1 could be higher.
Do you have Windows Defender (anti Spyware) installed ?.....this can cause problems.
