I have aquired a server that I need to set-up. In the livebox settings it shows server OFF, how do I gain an IP address so that computers can connect to my Win 2003 server ?
Presuming you want to be able to access it remotely over the internet, not a great idea on residential connections but it depends what you want it for, then the best way would be to:
Assign it a static IP address on the local network,
Setup a dynamic DNS account so you aren't required to know the WAN IP at all times,
Setup port forwarding for whatever software you want to run on the system,
Gloat to friends and relatives at how great your setup is.
