I found this on the internet. May be usefull but not sure when installing third party wireless e.g Belkin wirleless.
Oh another thing this information is actully about how to connect a Nintendo DS but adds information about third partys aswell.
Hi, try this....
Go into the livebox. Start- All Programs – Wanadoo – Configure the Livebox.
The default user name and password are Admin for both.
Click on the Security tab on the left.
Click on Firewall and click on the low (disable firewall) radio button. Press submit.
Click on the Configuration tab on the left, then the Wireless tab and No Security. Press submit
Click on the Wireless Connection tab, and make sure that the Enable Wireless box is ticked.
(One point here, if you have not tried to to configure the DS before, the MAC address of the DS will not be in the Associated Devises list.) I do not know how it gets there, other than if you have tried to it previously.
(This part below is where it might help you. Not sure myself as i said.)
When trying to attach a third party wireless to the Livebox you MUST input manually. Do no try to do it automatically as some have suggested, as it WILL NOT work. If you try to do it auto mode then the Gateway and IP Address settings will be wrong, and you will get the message that it cannot find IP address. You MUST NOT use the gateway address that is in the system information section of the Livebox, you must use the Livebox’s LAN Address, this also is in the system information section of the Livebox.
I know nothing about wireless networks but I connected a netgear adaptor to the livebox (after 7 hours of trying!), and I don't think I did any of that...
To be perfectly honest thats a really stupid thing to do.
Basicly.. by doing what you tell us to, you're opening up your computer to ANYTHING from the internet, hackers viruses, ANYTHING.
Also, you best trust your neighbours, because any neighbour with a wireless card could connect to your network without you knowing and steal your internet, within seconds.
Normally there's no need to turn off the livebox firewall or wireless security. Also automatically obtaining an IP address usually works. There's only a small number of occasions when you'd want to do this and usually that indicates other problems with the setup or system.
