Ok, you need to set a static ip for your xbox.
Here's how you do that...
The easiest way to assign a static IP Address to your Xbox is to actually just leave it on automatic.
So set the Xbox to auto in the System Blade/Network Settings.
Once your router has assigned the xbox an IP Address view the IP Address on the System Blade/Network settings.
Write down the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. Then simply go into the IP Address settings, change the settings to manual and enter all of the information you wrote down.
Using this method means there's a possibility you could get a duplicate IP Address later on as the router might hand out that same address again. If it does, just add 30 to the last digit of the IP address. e.g. if its 192.168.1.10 make it 192.168.1.40
Make a note of this ip as you will need it shortly,
Now goto www.portforward.com/english/ro...ve_360.htm
and follow the instructions carefully, then reboot both your router and then your xbox.
That should give you an open NAT.
To avoid an IP address clash just use 192.168.1.2
Thats out of the DHCP range and isn't normally used. Subnet mask and gateway need to be the settings noted down as the previous post.
This is happening to me too, I have followed the link to setup port forwarding on my 3Com wireless router and I have tried my 360 on both cable and wireless and it still doesn't let me connect to my friends, now its saying we I have incompatible networks and my NAT is open. The thing is me and my mate have exactly the same setup, same exact router etc, the only difference is his ISP. I did not get a live box as I was an original Wanadoo user and had my own wireless network already setup when Orange took over. Any one got any suggestions.
