well i am in 2 homes due to uni, i live in dundee at the weekend where the missus has tiscali, we were on 2 meg because all isp's said this was the max due to our exchange.
about a month ago i upgraded to 8meg anyway, then the following weekend i tested the speed using Dos ping etc and DSL Report .com,we actually get ........."12 meg" hooray.
but in my glasgow home (next door to exchange) my 1meg Orange connection which reached 1.1meg after upgrading to 8meg livebox i now recieve "under" 1meg. and dont even try to call the call-centre in india....

Tiscali and Orange are equally appalling ISP's although at the moment i would put Tiscali fraction better as a friend of mine recently got a MAC off them in under an hour lol.
If you done the first speed test on the tiscali site it has a mind of its own it recorded a 40 odd meg download speed for me mate who was on a fixed 2 meg package LOL.
