I am in the process of joining all the unfortunates and having read so much misery about Orange customers I would like to cancel the contract before it starts. I have requested Home Max but have not yet been released by BT. I have until 4.00pm 24/1/08 to contact BT to stop this from happening.
Question is, if I cancel now will I still be Due to pay for 12 months outstanding contract?
Shouldn't that be 18 months? All the contracts are 18 now instead of 12.
The main question is if your broadband has been activated, I'd assume it has as that's usually done first, if so it makes things a lot more complicated.
Last I heard, I don't know this for sure, is that if they can't put the phone service on you get effectively changed to the Select package. They supposedly can't enforce the contract in this case (I really can't say for certain) so you'd be able to cancel, but if you declined the switch then that could potentially change things. You'd be best off talking to cancellations and finding out.

18 Months! Ahhhhh this is getting worse.
I do not know if the broadband has been activated yet as we have yet to recieve the email from Orange. I have a feeling that it has as when I have been checking through broadband supply from ther ISP's they state that we have broadband. But as I say, we have not yet plugged in or recieved confirmation from Orange that the account is live. Many thanks for your suggestion though.
