Hi, Help please. This is driving me mad and Orange, as usual, are not help. Say the usual thing - contact your supplier!!
The main computer connects to the Livebox via ethernet cable and works fine.
my daughter's computer has Belkin wireless installed and for no reason at all now will not connect to internet. I am getting limited or no connectivity message. Also Norton says that there is a problem configuring the network address.
Where do I go to check the network address and what should it be.
Please help me get back on line. I have tried altering the WEP/WFA to no security, etc, but nothing works.
The network address is assigned by the livebox once the wireless connection is established. As you mention you've tried with no security then it means it's probably down to one of two things really.
1. Pairing, you need to press the 1 button so the antenna light flashes before the livebox will accept a new connection. It only needs to be done once, unless you reset the livebox in which case it'll then have to be done again.
2. Signal, have you tried changing the channel within the Security > Wireless Connection page? If not just randomly jump the channel number around and try reconnecting.
It may be worth moving the livebox next to the PC to try this out, it means you can check an ethernet connection for the PC to make sure it's not a problem with itself and you'll get a better wireless signal to work with.
