Hi all, I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what will happen when Orange try and take a direct debit amount from my back account on the 4th, while i have £0.21 in the bank. Bill is for about £30
My account will also just deny the bill as it cant actually go into the negative.
Ive just changed jobs which is why there is so little in the account, im just a bit scared that Orange are going to force me to pay some kind of charge for this
Oh, ive paid all my bills for the 14 months ive had out of my contract 18 month, this is the first month im unable to make the payment.
The joke is I will be able to make the payment on the 13th Dont you just love HR
There's no penalty charge, but they may disconnect your service and you'll need ot phone up customer service to sort out your billing issue, Just don't be agreeing ot anytihng you don't want to be agreeing to.
Sorry to hear about your cashflow problems. I'd imagine that Orange aren't the only company that need to take DDs from your account?
Is there no way you can stick some money in your account from somewhere - it'll probably be simpler in the long run. Any kindly friends or relatives who can lend you a few quid till you get paid?
If not then have you considered contacting your bank to see if they will arrange an overdraft? I presume you have a basic account that doesn't allow overdrafts (authorised or otherwise)? Perhaps they will upgrade the account now?
This is obviously a financial rather than a broadband problem. I recommend winging your way over to

tell them you want to cancel as you cannot afford it, they should put you through to the customer care dep who should offer you a cheaper package or a goodwill month.
