All my problems started with tiscali. All of a sudden i had less then 56k from a 2mb line. After a couple of months of fruitless attempts from Tiscali to diagnose the problem finally a call to BT wholesale told me that an LLU had been installed on my line ( by Tiscali !!). Then the internet stopped working altogether. luckily for me my contact was up so i gave notice. 4 months later people, yes 4 months later tiscali removed the tag from my line so i was finally able to get another provider. Stupidly, i did not research the matter well enough and am left on Orange with bad speeds. I do not know if this is still because of the LLU?? I usually get download speed of about 100kb/s on a really good day. I guess i should feel slightly grateful for that. For the first month on Orange I couldnt even connect due to PPP Server down. the usual though, go to tech support, they cant/wont help, stuck in my contract for another 8 months or so *Sigh*.....i am soooooo bored of waiting for stuff to buffer..............So i gues the moral of the story is that there are other providers out there who are just as bad and do your research before switching folks !!!!

When I was cut off last time - the "5 days" was actually 24 days - that was last month. This month, I've already been cut off for a week. A friend of mine is currently cut off and he was told he's be down for five days - that was last week...
Be aware, they might fix it in five days but some people on here have been cut off for months - orange customer service will tell you anything to get you off the phone.
ok so its working again, thats one good thing. My latest speed test is 879kbps download 232 upload.

DISABLE ALL MY ANTIVIRUS AND FIREWALL PRODUCTS!!!!!
They have got to be kidding. Oh its all in the livebox they reckon, Yeah right, I trust this livebox about as far as I could throw it. Its a pretty hefty ugly thing so I dont fancy my chances. Just to shut them up I disabled for about 2 minutes and done a speed test - it was even slower than before. Then I was told to factory reset my livebox (As if I havent already done that about 150 times this week alone!) I refused to do that, turned back on all my antivirus etc. In the end the guy told me that it was because " the engineers are sending some slow speeds down my line" Hahahaha!! That is the funniest comeback I have ever heard. Then, he did some command line rubbish that boosts my speed. Guess what - It didn't.
One joke after another, I was cracking up by the end at their uselessness. I have another 10 months left in this sucky contact *Sigh*. Oh dear. What to do?
