Hi, wondering if anyone can help me....... I stubled apon this site and glad to see other people are in the same boat! Rolling Eyes

After waiting 9weeks for a BB transfer to my new address and various C@#P from Orange, my line is now working on 2B using a speedtouch modem. I have aquired a Wanadoo livebox and done a firmware update, however the box connects for about 10 mins then disconnects giving me PPP update and Sync messages, I dont have the exact messages on me but I can get them.

The link on the livebox keeps dropping ad isnt reliable, can I have a livebox connected to the 2MB line or do I need to upgrade as told by someone at Orange, I think this is rubbish?!?!

Any help appreciated I am going nuts as sitting next to the phoneline on speedtouch is not really great as I would like to user wireless...

Those sorts of messages, as you suggest, mean it's dropped the connection and then trying to re-establish it. Do you have everything filtered on the line, tried at the main socket etc? If the speedtouch works fine with the same cables etc then that would mean a problem with that livebox. May be the reason why you were able to acquire it?

ha ha yeah it was aquired from a friend who got a new livebox from a member of his family so know it works.....

I will try in main house socket as know speedtouch works in this one but not yet tested the livebox in the main socket.
Saying that though I have "aquired" another wireless box this morning from an IT colleague of mine so will give that a whirl. Should I be able to use any wireless kit? As reading one of the other feeds someone said the best thing to do with an Orange wireless box was to unplug all the wires, place it under the back wheels of yur car and reverse Laughing

Nice little linksys asdl router wired up and working fine, livebox ready to back over in car Very Happy

PC and laptop working also wii, chuffed to bits, thanks for your help

atleast I can now USE my Orange BB Shocked
