OK I am from Southampton have been with Orange since the wandadoo/ Freeserve days
But I am at my wits end with the service being provided.
Last night the internet was bloody slow we're talking a 56k modem could outrun this heap of junk,
Before I encountered this issue a few weeks ago I was being presented with random disconnections, So I decided to bin the Speedtouch USB modem and invest in a wireless D-Link 802.11G router, All was well initially but now I keep getting these periods where the internet becomes ridiculously slow I try pinging websites and I get the request timed out error,
But after like 5 minutes or so the internet kicks in and i'm able to browse pages for say 10 mins then the internet just grinds to a holt again.
Click on the link to MTU and RWIN Settings, this may help. Run http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks and check what it recommends before making any changes. Also note down any original settings so that you can revert to them if necessary.
Many on here are also using OpenDns server settings in Internet Protocol Properties(TCP/IP) rather than auto DNS server addresses.
