Hi guys i'm having real trouble with my Livebox 8mb connection, particularly with my xbox360 disconnecting a lot. I get the same probs with my iBook but less often. According to iStumbler my signal is only at 40%, could this be the prob?
Having had a look through the forums i've done a few checks... i'm 2.2Km from my exchange that isn't using LLU. BT Speedtest keeps telling me there is an error, speedtest.net gives the following:

cool thanks for the info on the capping guys! Any advice on how to switch the channel of my router? I live in a second floor appartment and my iBook picks up 4 other wireless networks so i guess that might be the source of all my disconnections?

ok so i'm still getting disconnected!! Phone Orange tech support they told me that it was due to my cordless phone being too closed to my livebox. Have since moved the Livebox to another phone point and now im getting a lightshow on top of the box and longer periods without internet. I get the @ light flashing every second then rapidly 4 or 5 times a second, at the same time the phone symbol flashes intermittently whilst the >> symbol flashes! Is it time to set it all on fire and dance a little juju dance around the ashes??
Means it's having trouble picking up the signal at that phone socket. Did you reconnect the cables up correctly and is everything else filtered that is connected to the line?
Just remember a single channel change may not help, it could take several to get a better frequency that prevents the disconnects.

Yue p all connected up properly, filters on all the equipment. I think i've solved the signal strength issue, i regularly get 70-80% on chan13 but it hasn't solved my disconnect problems. dunno what to do now
If the lights on the livebox weren't like that before than it's a wiring problem for that socket.
When you get a disconnect does the wireless connection drop out or just the broadband connection so you can still view the livebox pages? Did it do the same at the original phone socket?

ITs just the broadband connection that drops its still connected to the Livebox. Its been so far today but last night was a nightmare, constantly dropping the connection. Im guessing it is the BT socket as its worse since ive moved it there.

ORANGE RANDOM DISCONNECTION
Ensure there is a filter on all sockets.
Ensure that all filters are good quality and in good condition.
Try with only the livebox connected to the phone line (the Livebox does not need to go through a filter and can be plugged straight into the phone line) - disconnect everything, Sky, telephones, faxes, modems etc.
