Can anyone suggest what settings I need to change to attempt to try and resolve sending mail with an Orange email account from Windows Mail in Vista? Error message is as follows:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Emailing: 022', Account: 'pop.orangehome.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.orangehome.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
I've changed the smtp to all those suggested in previous posts but this does not work. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

That error is usually an indication that your settings are wrong somewhere ie: the smtp server address, or it could be Orange servers playing up again.

Bri, a note to sympathise:- had exactly the same problem for months, tried everything I can think of. My problem started after I chucked Orange as a broadband provider in April, (rather they chucked me - said they couldn't provide at my new address). Am wondering if this is some form of 'sour grapes' on their part!!

Bri, since posting you a message earlier, I've found someone with a solution on a different area of this website, and guess what.......IT WORKS!!
The only drawback is that it will cost you £14, however as we've both experienced great frustration, it's probably worth every penny AND it bypasses the problematic Orange server altogether.
