I have recently called up Orange to cancel my account with them after I was not in any contract with them etc etc.
Anyway during my phone call I only requested that my Orange account to be cancelled. I didnt request a MAC code or they didnt mention anything about it.
What I am wondering is from all the problems you guys have suffered from, do I bother to phone up Orange asking for the MAC code?? Or should i just wait for my line to be clear...

The best route to go is asking for a MAC then u will have 4 hours downtime at the most if your on LLU if your on max it will be about 20 minutes, if you cancel it will be about 3 weeks with no broadband either way you will have to pay the fee for an LLU migration or a reactivation as ADSL24 charge for migrating in from LLU, if your on ADSL Max a migration in with a MAC will be free, a reactivation is a charge of around £45 ish a MAC would be a better option.
If you have already requested a cancelleation it will probably be too late.
