I have a family friend who signed up to 56K with Freeserve and has been with them though out, They have seen Broadband upgrades with Freeserve, the migration to Wanadoo and now to Orange.
They have never had ANY trouble with anything before but now all they can get on their line is a flashing green ADSL light. This is on a speedtouch 330 modem but the same no matter what modem or 'Live box' as they call them, on the line.
When I pick up the phone I can hear what sounds like a fax modem talking on the voice line and sometimes it will connect and produce a hissing noise on the voice line but won't actully work on BB.
I have now spent the last week phoning Orange BB Technical Support (08700102462 options: 1,5,4,2) And they keep telling me I need Line test's. On Friday I was told to call back after 48 hours so I phone today and the call has been closed!!!
I know that they have a line fault as I have researched intot he faults and found it to be a possible tie split pair I think...
Basically does anyone know who I should ask to be put through to when I get to the Tech Centre? Is there a higher person I can talk to so that they can authorise work to be carried out on the line?
