I am hopefully going to ditch Orange when I decide on my new ISP.
Currently YOUTUBE is very slow and videos just stutter along.
Am I right in assuming this is because of Orange.
I have noticed a general slow down over the last couple of months.
Don't want to switch and find the same problem.
Personally the way I would test a connection thoroughly is to play online games.
Connect to a server in the UK and watch your ping while playing.
Also any disconnections from your broadband under heavy load.
With Orange I got disconnections frequently and high pings, then eventually no connection whatsoever for 2 weeks so I left.
With my new ISP my ping is very low always and never disconnected in over a year, not once.
There are other ways which people will post on here, everybody has different experiences.
One of the reasons I like this site so much.
You can't really rely on one site, or method for this sort of thing, you need to check a number of sites and different programs if you can.
Low pings aren't always associated with slow speeds and slow speeds don't always mean you'll have a high ping time. It's a common misconception amoungst a large number of people that bandwidth and latency are the same thing.
