are Orange issuing a migration code to llu customers, as i want to leave
I don't know if Orange are but Wanadoo were. The MAC won't look like a normal MAC and many ISPs won't accept it as valid. It will look something like LLU123456.
You may need to ring up your intended new ISP rather than use their webpage to get the migration accepted with the funny code.
Once you get a new ISP don't forget to cancel your direct debit to Orange.
it takes 5 working days (max) to generate as well and best check with whichever provider you have in mind as to whether they accept it. Otherwise you'll be waiting even longer (i.e. if they don't accept it then the other option is to close the account and the line takes up to 10 working days for the broadband marker to clear).
I was on wanadoo LLU and received a MAC in 5 days but the migration options for LLU are still patchy, so it is an option just not a large choice. Went for a cease and reprovide in the end to widen the choices. The process of LLU migration should become better as time goes on......
Not that many when I tried. I checked out the best options from ADSLguide ISP ratings and emailed them but only ZEN seemed to be able to work with it. ZEN have a fine reputation but their packages weren't to my taste so went the long way around, but take a look at their site for more info.
Always email or call your candidate ISP a couple of times to make sure they can handle the LLU code.
