Please help...I'm confused...I have had a Belkin Router working on my freeserve/wannadoo Broadband for over a year. Since Orange have taken over...my service has gone down the pan. I've had to reinstall a new Speedtouch modem to get service.....it appears to need to dial a '9' to get the Broadband connection ?? Anyone know what this is about ? Dialling '9' to get the connection....even though the green adsl light is on and steady the whole time. Can I get my Belkin Router to work with what appears to be 'Dial-up Broadband' ?? (This is driving me nuts). Thanks.
Are you sure that it is dialling 9, and not 0? This is the default no. for Orange BB to dial. Dont be confused, broadband does not have any specific number to dial to. So to kick start the modem, you need "some" number i.e. "0" or "9" or "whatever"..... If you are now able to connect successfully, the problem could have been with the earlier router/modem.....

Thanks, marshapc, for your reply. Yes - it is an '0' that it dials, (excuse my slip of the finger). So - how do I get my Belkin Router to 'kick start' with an '0'. Before Orange the BB was simply always there. Now I have a staedy green ADSL....but no BB till I kick start with an '0'. Can you, or anyone reading this, expand further for me. Thanks. ( The speedtouch modem is connected via USB: The Belkin router is connected via ethernet cable ).
