I was with Freeserve and then Wanadoo for a number of years before migrating to Demon and then recently returning (to get the laptop offer...yes I got it eventually..see another thread). My understanding is that to some extent the Spam filters depend on users flagging unwanted e-mails as Spam. This has resulted in genuine mailing lists being flagged as Spam, I guess because perhaps the kids have signed up to something like an on-line horoscope and Dad just ticked it as Spam.
If you are irked by genuine e-mail being flagged as Spam, set your mail client up for a while to leave your mail on the server, then once you start getting genuine e-mail flagged as Spam, go onto the Web Mail service and Mark As Not Spam. This should result in that e-mail being set at least to display as genuine on your account.
