It's 18 months...I've been reliably told this by multiple unreliable Orange staff. I guess at the heart of Orange is a big universe-shifting paradox. Staff at Currys still think it's 24 months though - my local store is a comedy team...except the nice-looking girl - I never pay attention to what she is saying.

Actually, it turns out it's not, it really is 24 months.
There's a bit more to the story though. The offer came out just as the new 18 month contracts came in and there was some confusion over which it was. They started advising the advertising was wrong and this got updated into the internal details of the offer. It's been since changed to clearly state it is 24 months.
However it also clearly states that if you're told it was 18 months then they will honor it.

Have Orange/PCW also clearly stated that the laptop is totally free and is the sole property of the customer and cannot be reclaimed by either Orange or PCW if the customer leaves the contract early ?
i was told by PC World that it was a 24 month contract, however, when i check my account online it says 18 month contact and also states this in my contract,
i questioned this with Orange and they said the free laptop offer should be 24 months but anyone who has been put on a 18 month contract will be honoured,
