Use the MAC code first then once you are away cancel the direct debit.they might send you a freepost bag for the live box.As for any payment well I would have been happy to have lost a month but they actually put it back in my bank account.when they chased me for any money owing I was polite and they were with me I explained the situation and then I was passed on to an escalations guy.He was great too and cancelled my contract.Though I did not have one some girl sneaked me onto a new 12 month one for asking to return back to 2mb after they failed with up to 8mb.To be honest apart from the indian call centre/so called tech support I can never fault them for that.

I left Orange a few months ago. Got my MAC code, went with BT, then cancelled my DD.
The other day I got an letter from Orange to say I owe £211.
Considering I had next to no broadband for the two months I was wih Orange I am loathe to pay them.

Ask them to itemise the £211, detailing precisely the service supplied for those items.
You then need to decide if they contravened any of their contractual responsibilities. Keep all communications in writing and retain copies for future use if necessary.
