i take it for local calls if i put in the area code before hand the call will be free?

You have to use an area code. Any UK landline number starting with 01 or 02 will then be free of charge. See http://www.orange.co.uk/member.../10703.htm if you're still unsure.

so local calls just put in area code b4- gonna save a fortune
