Getting an increasing number of times when someone answers my call on Talk and can't hear me. I can hear them OK. Ring off, don't change anything, ring again and its OK. Fine when people ring me, I think!!
Thanks owerbob. At least I'm not on my own. As usual Orange support have not come up with anything useful. Took me Three emails before they understood the problem. They are now sending me a new filter????
At least they can feel as if they are doing something useful. Solving problems doesn't seem to be high on their priority least. Answering emails, whether effective or not, obviously is.
I too have had this problem, and it drives me mad! I have tried swapping phones (I have one on BT, two on Orange Talk) with no success. I have just heard from a friend that both she and her mum have the same intermittant problem. Seeing this post makes me think that it could be a common problem. BB is otherwise OK, and speech quality is fair (about the same as a mobile). Would replaceing the Livebox be worth doing? Is it just a flakey batch of Liveboxes, a design problem, or a firmware problem? Presumably a firmware problem could be fixed in a software update. I really want to fix this, 'cos I get loads of grief off of my family over this.
Thjanks deadbeef. Just got back from a month in Greece so I am waiting to hear what Orange have come up with. They said they have escalated the problem whatever that means!!!
Thanks billf, I'd like to hear what they have to say. The problem is continuing, along with an occasional screech on the earpiece when the cordless (DECT) phone is first picked up to dial out.
It's now 6 weeks since they told me they had escalated the problem. I emailed them yesterday to ask what the progress was. Guess what, they came back asking for information I gave them months ago in order that they can escalate the problem.
I have asked them to get someone on the case who knows what they are doing and can be bothered to read the history.
If the problem is not resolved within two weeks I will consider that they are not providing the service I am paying for and are therefore breaching the contract.
Had a reply saying that someone would ring me within two days. Gave it two weeks and no call so I told them I had had enough and would they give me my MAC number as I felt they had breached the contract as they weren't providing me with the service I was paying for.
Got an email back asking for my full name, email address, letters from my password, date of birth, post code etc. Gave them all of this and then got an email back saying that it didn't tally with their records and could I let them have them again. Have sent them again. Experience tells me this could go on for some time.
Depends where you are in your contract period and how long you've been trying to resolve the problems (in terms of Orange's records). The longer they've had to correct the problems the more chance you have arguing a zero cancellation fee.
The best way is get your MAC and argue about costs later.
What value do you put on a good reliable broadband service ?

You are at the beginning of what could be a long journey. I finished up with them offering to change my LiveBox. Decided to go along with that, so I am still with them (talk about inertia). Went OK for quite some time but the problem has just started again.
What I have done is to keep my old phone on BT and that is the one that people ring me on. The one connected via LiveBox I use for outgoing free calls. At least that way I know when the problem occurs and I can ring off and then re-dial.
Marginally better than a cleft stick or a pigeon!!!!
