After 3 months of no or very slow broadband following an "upgrade" to the line and ocuntless ensuing calls to tech support I have used MAC code and gone to BE - over 10 times faster and £4/month cheaper to boot.
Orange are rubbish and deserve to lose many more customers in my opinion.
One thing though - will be old fsnet email address continue to work or do Orange disable it?

Hi as long as you keep the address active (log in regularly) it should stay open i left last august and mine only shut last month not that i used it.
Good luck with Bethere

Well I will be requesting my MAC code as soon as my direct debit goes out of my account. They refuse to support me because I don't have a livebox or a speedtouch modem, despite me having much faster speeds prior to being LLU'd (i.e. a so called speed upgrade)
Yeah, As Steve said, so long as you keep using it, should be ok. I quit Orange over a year ago now(following a farcical LLU upgrade) , and my .freeserve.co.uk address still works OK.
By the way, I'm not sure it it was deliberate or a typo, but your spelling of "countless", kind of sums up Orange and it's support
Well, as indicated in my signature, I've been plotting an escape from Orange. Plan hatched today. Now need to deal with the eggshell!
In other words migrated today to Be, now have to tidy up with regard to Orange accounts dept as left in contract period. As we were conned into the Livebox contract, by Orange rubbishing my trusty Netgear (which has subsequently had to jump start the Livebox!), I will be fighting not to pay the balance of the contract period. I guess they may want their beloved Livebox back as well.
Early days, but so far very please: speed this morning with Orange 520Kbps, speed with Be this evening 3,300Kbps. About the best I could hope for so far from the exchange and roughly what Orange actually promised, but failed to deliver.
Guess I'll have to change signature.
