I requested a MAC code from Orange on Wednesday, theyve told me it will take 5 working days (which I know is the law),

but realisitically why should it take that long, shouldnt it just be a case of them pushing a button an generating the code, or is it more complex?

I want to know whether I should call them up and pester them to give it to me sooner, because Ive had no internet service since last week.

The request for a MAC is sent off to a specific team that deal with them. As soon as it's been generated to the account then they can provide it to you but at that point it's usually been emailed out.
