Took plunge and signed up for Orange anytime with livebox...
not that tech minded,
am i still able to run my main pc thru the adsl filter into phone socket and just have my laptop as wireless????

Generally you'd connect the livebox to the line and then use a wired connection for the main PC through a network or ethernet connection. The laptop would then be able to connect wirelessly.
You end up on a network so you can share files between systems, once setup, along with the two being able to connect inderpendantly of each other.
ok thanks for the reply, so pc into speedtouch then the line i plug in normally to telephone line will now go into livebox?

Yeah, you just take out the Speedtouch and unplug it from the PC, you can leave the cable going to the filter and phone socket as you know that's setup and working ok. Connect the remaining cable to the livebox, plug in it's power adapter and the ethernet cable from it to the PC.
After that you can run the CD or manually set it up, most on here will recommend the manual option and it's pretty easy once you know how.

The only real difference apart from the box itself is the type of cable to connect to the PC. Don't worry about it, the guide with the livebox should explain how to get it setup.
