my girlfriend has an Orange mobile and with that we had free 2meg adsl which we upgraded to 8meg for an extra £5 a month. we had the 2meg service for about 4 months and it was fine but after the upgrade to 8meg our phone line developed a fault and it was this i assume that set our ip profile to 512k. a BT engineer has fixed the fault and after 2 days of constantly synching at 7600kbps my ip profile only moved up to 1000k and after 4 more days of synching at that speed my ip profile hasn't changed at all.
after reading about how people can't get Orange to respond to their problems i am asking what is the best way for me to tell Orange my problem, have them understand it and then act on it in a timely fashion ?
thanks for any advice.
also is it just my livebox that has a very very weak wireless signal and randomly resets itself for no apprant reason ? its so bad i have had to use my own speedtouch modem.
You mention syncing, do you disconnect it at all and then reconnect to check it comes up with the same sync speed? The way you word it suggests you may be and that could be the cause of the profile not moving back up.
It can be capped due to a fault but on ADSL Max it's fairly rare.
Ideally you should just ignore your router/modem and check things after 3 days to see if the system self adjusts.
If it's the same or you've already done that then depending on what the MSR for your line is then a line test may automatically put it through to be looked at.
