After 10 days of ringing the helpdesk because of dropped connections and incredibly slow speeds (34 bits per sec), the have finally admitted that it's not me, it's THEM. I was told that many Orange users have been experiencing very slow speeds and their engineers are working on the problem and expect to resolve it in 48 hours.
Just thought that everyone else whose been endlessly reinstalling modems and emptying their Temp Internet files etc. etc. would like to know this. Why they had to wait ten days to tell me is a complete mystery. Am completel fed up with them.

They have been saying this since january when they first meesed my connection up.
my problems are back as before - had approx 4weeks of stable'ish use after weeks of pain, angush, frustration and lost business - now over this past week it's all started the same pattern again - first slow, then drop outs increasing frequency, etc - absolutely useless.
"admitted that it's not me, it's THEM" Could we have that in writing on paper signed and posted to each of us?. Well Orange suck. Im going to ring them everyday till i get cut off (2008) Not joking.
NOBODY has to put up with Orange's rubbish service.
As soon as you start getting disconnection problems or a slow connection just request your MAC code and leave.
You're perfectly within your rights as contracts work both ways.
Don't let them rob you anymore - leave ASAP.
I cannot understand why people put up with them for so long without just leaving.
Any service you pay for you expect something good in return - like getting on a bus or in ataxi, if they don;t provide then you simply don't pay or use them again.

I finally obtained my MAC from Orange and gave it to IDnet who switched me seamlessly on Monday from my 1meg Orange subscription to their 8meg subscription. There was no transfer fee, no upgrade fee and no contract and all for a monthly cost of £14.99 which is the same as I was paying Orange for their crap 1meg service. Speedtest.net is now showing my download speed as 7meg.
