I ask this because the Livebox will stay running fine for a few days and then suddenly *freeze up*.
All the lights stay on, the wireless disconnects however and the phone does not work and when using the phone there is just a dead sound.
It does this often, it'll work fine then this happens and I have to unplug it and power it back up again.
Is it worth getting onto Orange about this or anyone else had simmilar problems?
Sounds to me like you could have the start of a firmware problem, this will get worse through time, from what i remember this can be caused by the router trying to do an online firmware upgrade but not being able to start the process and locking itself out.
You could try and re-flash the firmware, if doing so make sure that the computer is connected to the router using the ethernet cable otherwise it won't work.
if you don't feel like trying this you can give Orange tech support a phone and get a replacement.
I should point out that this fault isn't on their automated system of faults & remedies, they probably won't recognise the problem and will insist on resetting the router 3 times which the 1st time would get the router to connect and they will tell you that there isn't a problem when infact there is one, and the person on the phone won't put the order in for a replacement.
It will be a bit tricky getting them to replace the router, you just have to try and explain the problem and that it's an ongoing one which is getting worse.
