My laptop and router talk to each other fine but the ADSL connection is so sporadic.

Using the cofiguration manager the connection status hops from "Connected" to "Not ready to connect. Training" to "Not ready to connect. Handshaking" and "Ready to connect"

Clearly, anthing other than "connected" isn't good.

I've performed all the Voyager troubleshoot tips and there is seemingly no problem. I know that if I phone either Orange or BT (for the Voyager) they will blame the other party.

Any ideas? Does it sound like the router or our best friends at Orange?

Orange very rarely provide a consistent stable service so I would say 99% it will be them.
Leave now as things will only get worse.
