I'm trying to connect my PC to my Livebox using a Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter. When my PC scans for available networks it does not pick up my Livebox even though I have moved it into the same room, It does however pick up my neighbours Livebox?

UNABLE TO CONNECT WITH WIRELESS:
I take it the wireless is turned on in set up pages?
Are you pressing Button 1 on Livebox to put it into pairing mode?
Press Button 1 on Livebox so the wifi light flashes. This puts livebox into pairing mode and you have 10 minutes to try and connect your wireless device . This only needs to be done once and then you should be able to connect every time .
I had to change security on Livebox to WEP only.
WEP key is case sensitive.
If security is an issue WPA is more secure, try WPA only.
You could also try Changing the channel. One recommended to try is channel 9.
Another issue is if there are 2 programmes on the computer that you are trying to connect trying to control the wireless. Turn off the programme that came with the wireless card and use XP to control the connection.
Thanks, tried changing security settings, no change. Changed to channel 9 on Livebox and hey presto. thanks a lot.
Much better than spending ages trying to decipher somebodies accent on the 'helpline'
