I've been experiencing slow speeds and can only open a very limited amount of sites, such as Google and luckily Orangeproblems. I had to install a dial up connection in order to open other sites and to be able to send and receive emails safely. A short while ago I installed a Network Optimizer and changed the MTU settings, but this didn't help.
I recently read, that changing the router from PPoA to PPoE may solve this problem? Unfortunetly i'm not very computer literate and i don't know how to do this. My modem is a Thomson SpeedTouch 330. Also using a pretty old OS: Win98se
I tried to cancel the contract with Orange, but these B's are demanding 160Pounds!!!
I would greatly appreciate any help and/or advice.

Havn't received any replies yet, but finally managed to sort the problem out by myself. Installed DrTCP and changed the IPMTU settings to 1478, which seems to have solved the problem for the moment.
I hope, i won't have to post another question. Best of luck to all Orange victims!
P.S.: For anyone with simular problems try to download DrTCP:

Hi guys, I have found my way here by typing my problem into Google, I am not alone after all!
I have been without broadband since the 3rd June and have spent about £30 on calls to Oranges “help” line at 50p per minute and an other £60 for “pay as you” go calls.
Just like Till I tried to escape but was asked for £158.44 .
I was a bit sceptical about the cure, but sure enough after downloading DR. tcp and typing 1478 into the IPMTU window and restarting all was well.
I see from searching on this board that this problem has been around for some time, I am wondering why Orange did not do a Google search themselves?
I think that their help service is disgraceful !!!!
