My desktop pc is connected using socket 1 at the back of the livebox, but i would like to be able to connect a laptop to the livebox at the same time. I thought this would just be a case of plugging the ethernet cable into socket 2 on the livebox but this doesnt work. Any ideas please ?
Go to Orange.co.uk and go to help and support, and type in "Livebox Mini - enable the yellow port to connect a computer" and follow the instructions. If you haven't got the livebox mini you should still be able to configure the yellow port. Have you considered setting up the laptop wirelessly?

Thanks NewApollo that worked a treat. The laptop works ok with wireless but one of the programs i use has a high refresh rate and occasionally sticks with wireless. cheers.
