DON'T get caught out by broadband customer service charges that could cost you up to 35p per minute.
Subscribers can fork out a fortune to get their provider to sort out glitches with their connection.
From July 1 users of Virgin Media, formerly NTL, will have to pay a whopping 25p a minute plus a 10p connection charge to ring the customer helpline.

Virgin says it will refund any call costs that are due to a faulty modem or unreported local fault. Tiscali, Orange and Sky customers would pay a nationalrate number charged at 10p per minute.
And TalkTalk customers pay the same, but must stump up £2 to speak to an engineer.
Those with BT would call an 0845 local-rate number which means the most you will pay is 3p a minute.
If you are at ease with computers, you may not need to spend hours on the phone sorting out problems.
But novices should consider choosing a provider that can help them out cheaply. Even then you don't have to pay an arm and a leg. The website saynoto0870.com lists local and low-cost alternative numbers for most companies.
If it doesn't have a different number, then ask the helpline to call you back.
